This weeks social rides are,

Venue : Union Mills Industrial estate, Opposite Spar, Union Mills

And

Date : Thursday 2nd October
Time : 6.45 – 7.00pm ( to give people time to get there )
Venue : Shoprite car park, Ramsey.

Possibly some of the Northern Posse may join us.

If you require a lift for Thursday, please get in touch, so we can sort something out.
I’ve got room in my van.

Isle of Man Adventure Race – Entries Close 6th September (Saturday)

Isle of Man Adventure Race – Entries close Saturday 6th September.

Due to the high demand for further team ‘Pair’ entries, Adventurous Experiences have announced entries to teams of four have been closed!
The format for year’s race is now online. sea kayak – mountain bike – hill run – mystery challenge’s…

The Isle of Man Adventure Race is a challenging journey through natural features set in the spectacular Manx coastline, using various forms of human powered transport – the fastest team with the most points, (gained from reaching control points) within the rules, wins.

“Launched in 2010 to promote the Isle of Man as a world class adventure playground, and a great place to challenge yourself in a variety of outdoor activities, the Isle of Man Adventure Race is now consistently attracting competitors from the UK, an gaining popularity with locals as well.”

Viewing the Island from a different perspective and close encounters with wildlife are an integral part of the experience, previous competitors have kayaked with Basking Sharks, played with seals, seen places they have never seen before and had a lot of fun.

Adventurous Experiences (Race Organiser and official sponsor for 2014) Keirron Tastagh said;
“the organisational team have worked very hard to establish a real adventure in the form of a competitive race for those who want to challenge themselves, have fun and get a little dirty…”

Competitors meet for the Friday evening briefing at Ballabrooie, Adventurous Experiences base, for 6pm.

The Isle of Man Adventure Race starts at 10am on Saturday morning, and is expected to take four and half to six hours to complete all stages.

There is a BBQ & social following the prize presentation for all competitors, marshals and sponsors. (with optional Coasteering to clear the head on Sunday morning) race competitors only.

Entry is £60 per person and includes Race pack, T-shirt and BBQ.
