Beer Barrows and Saws

This morning saw a good little turn out for the first work party in preparation of the Longest Day, Longest Ride and clearing a few sections of the course to make it safer to ride.  We would like to thanks the following for turning up and lending a hand;

Coops, Sinbad, Seamus, Will, Sue, Selwyn, Scott and a special thank you has to go to Cam who was our bear this morning……oh not for pooping in the woods but for turning up with the hanger from hell!

We managed to get a good portion of the course cleared of debris and a lot of ‘coat hangers‘ removed which will make riding these sections a lot safer at night and when riders are feeling fatigued.

Through the plotting of a new course we naturally came across a few things which needed to be negotiated and where we couldn’t negotiate them we removed them; Seamus was more than happy to oblige with this.

(No trees were harmed in the production of this course).

Sinbad gives us a demonstration of his Bear Grylls / Ray Meers survival shave using only his chopper.

We were emerging from the trees when we were pleasured by the presence of our very own William Shakespear……Foxdale who was out with the Saturday beginners ride and managed to drum up a bit more support for the Longest Day, Longest Ride.  Well Done Foxdale!

Sinbad wonders where everyone had disappeared to but didn’t realise they were behind him!

Thanks again to those that turned up to help clear the new course of debris and coat hangers.  We will be doing a few more of these in the coming weeks and may organise a few clear rides when the nights get a little lighter and warmer.
