More great work!

Well, despite the weather the weekend before, snow, the day turned out dry, bright and sunny which meant we could crack on with the trail building at Conrhenny.

The days work started early with Will (Nulty) collecting a tipping trailer from HSS and we met Andy ‘Sinbad’ Simpson at the old prison site where we had been given permission from JCK to collect some large stones for the rock garden sections we were in the process of constructing.  So the three of us loaded the trailer for the first of two loads and headed up to Conrhenny to drop it off ready for the afternoon build session.

We had arranged to meet in the main car park for 12 noon and had planned four hours work.  It was a good turn out with myself, Will Nulty, Simon ‘Coops’ Cooper, Stephen Honeybone, Bruce Nelson, Chris Steele, Emma Atkinson, Mike ‘Cakeman’ Kelly, Dave Reilly and not forgetting Ian ‘Spadgy Legs’ Lamberton.

It just goes to show that with many hands we really can get a lot done and managed to construct the best part of thirty meters of rock garden.

Thanks again to everyone involved with this project and your continued support and remember, if you do ride the trails we are constructing and like what we’re doing, please remember to drop an E-mail to;

Unbeatable mountainbiking in Gothenburg Sweden – Hillside Cycling

Hi everyone,

Do you and your fellow club members want to get the most possible out of your MTB trips this summer? Then we’d like to recommend a week of intensive riding in Gothenburg, Sweden. No one escapes the challenging and technical trails without increasing their technique, endurance and strength!

Best regards,

Leo Ranta & Natasja Jovic, http://www.hillsidecycling.com/

ps- Please forward this to your club members.  See below for more info:

Hillside Cycling is a new company which specialises in guided MTB cycling trips in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The idea was born during one of Leo Ranta’s many cycling trips abroad when he realised that Gothenburg with its technically demanding trails and variation of terrain was unique.

Here we have hundreds of kilometres of practically undisturbed trails that wind and twist through fairytale woods and serene lakes.

Discover the trails that Leo Ranta explored and led trips on three times a week, all year round, during his 15 year career as an MTB-cyclist.

The agenda consisting of week-long trips consisting of five days cycling and catering is a similar set up to international trips. What makes us different is that our trails give daily delights of new discovery rather than a daily déjà-vu experience after the first day. That, in combination with Natasja Jovic’s impressive catering, will leave you with new feelings.

During the first year we offer guided cycling during ten weeks from June to August.

For more information see our website www.hillsidecycling.com
A warm welcome awaits you in Gothenburg.

So……
Date : Tuesday 22nd January
Time : 6.45pm
Venue : NSC car park, Groves road, close to Dominos Pizza.
Sorry for any inconvenience, but I’d rather not have anybody coming a cropper in the snowy / icy conditions on the roads.
