More Good Work

This morning (Saturday) saw a small group (Coops, Gadge, Will, Selwyn, Cam, Dave, Sue and Scott) head to the trees for a spot of trail building.  We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped us so far and to remind others, there is still plenty to be done so if you have a spare hour or two please get in touch with either Coops (coops@loaghtanloaded.com) or Gadge (gadge@loaghtanloaded.com) for further details.

This evening marked the sad end of the STIFFY – Discarded, strewn onto the hard tail scrap heap, abandoned in one of the many sheds (awaiting retrospective planning permission) in the leafy garden suburb of down town Crosby – But before the cruel execution was to be preformed a lonely two Loaghtans, Coops and myself, were joined by Neil, the boy West, new comer fresh from South Africa way (via Derbyshire!) and two from the Zoo, or was it the Circus??.  Click HERE to read more.

Heaven of the South

Hi,

I saw your club on the British Cycling website, and wondered whether any of your members would be interested in riding the “Heaven of the South” event in Gloucestershire on Saturday 19th May 2012.

It’s an endurance / reliability event with a choice of 75km and 50km routes that take in the best singletrack, fire road, bridleway and minor roads on the southern edge of the Cotswold escarpment.  We’ve tried hard to link up all our favourite bits of local off-road, and to minimise the amount of tarmac road.

The ride is run as a charity event – last year we raised just under £4000 for local charities.

We’ve got camping (both on the Friday and Saturday evenings), a bar, hot showers, catering, plus live music and roller racing on the Saturday evening.

Entry is £30, or £40 if you want to camp overnight.  Non-riding family members / friends are free!

Entry via our website
http://www.heavenofthesouth.co.uk

Feel free to email me if you’ve got any questions.

Hope to see you there.

Sunday, the day of rest in the Lords eyes, yeah right, not for us, at least not for a few hours anyway.  Sinbad decided that it was about time the boys got together to help celebrate me turning the BIG FOUR O, yes 40!  Who’d have thought that the child faced one was actually born in ’72?  So a meeting time of 1.45pm was set and the location was to be Sinbad’s abode.  Click HERE to read more.

……and then we climbed some more.

We were honoured tonight to have Sinbad out first time for a while, apparently he’s found God (he was under the stairs) and been doing missionary work in Willaston.

The meeting place was Kirk Michael which can only mean up straight from the start, a couple had never done the Baltic before, and they can’t wait for it to come round again. Click HERE to read more.
